      HOUSE ROSENBÜHL 2, HOME OF THOMAS SCHWEIKER

      The in 2011 refurbished House Rosenbühl 2 is the former home of the armless artist and calligrapher Thomas Schweiker (1540-1602). His group of supporters included Emperor Maximilian II and Electoral Prince Ludwig from the Palatinate and his peers awarded him the exceptional honour of being entombed at the Saint Michael’s church.

      ARTISTS NA PAINTERS OF THE OLD DAYS

      As in all of Schwäbisch Hall, the shadows of the past can be spotted in our houses. Some parts of the four buildings that the hotel came to consist of date back 600 years. In our breakfast room you can find the works of the former owner, Johannes Berger, an art and drawing teacher. Between 1989 and 1904 he decorated the walls with portraits of old German imperial free cities.
